"Darksiders III" is an upcoming hack-and-slash action-adventure game being developed by American studio Gunfire Games and published by THQ Nordic. As the player progresses, the threats grow stronger, matching Fury’s power each time a Deadly Sin is defeated. "Darksiders III" unfolds parallel to previous games on a dilapidated, war-torn Earth. The protagonist, Fury, the Rider of the Black Horse and a sister Horseman of the Apocalypse, is tasked with destroying the Seven Deadly Sins by the Charred Council. Fury encounters the Lord of the Hollows, a powerful entity who helps her in her quest but has his own agenda. The Hollow Lord attempts to warn Fury that she’s being manipulated by the Charred Council. Despite her denial, the Hollow Lord aids her, granting her the power of fire and guiding her to eliminate a demon threatening Earth's stability.
